Australia's marine media experts

Content that does the selling

You've got listings to move, charters to fill and a business that deserves to look like the calibre of what it sells. We make the photography, video and social content that gets people to act. For the marine industry, and almost nothing else.

Your options

Three ways to get this done

Every marine business ends up at the same decision. Do it yourself, hand it to whichever video company is available, or bring in people who work in your industry and nowhere else. They don't cost the same, and we don't mean money.

Option one

Shooting it yourself

  • Captured between actual jobs, in whatever light the day happens to give you
  • Evenings lost to editing instead of selling boats or running the yard
  • Everything stops the moment the season gets busy, which is exactly when you need it most
  • A premium asset represented by media that looks like it cost nothing
Option two

A general video company

  • Weddings on Saturday, a warehouse on Monday, your vessel on Thursday
  • Learning your industry on your shoot day, at your expense
  • No read on tides, marina access, or why the boat can't leave the berth until Thursday
  • Footage that looks great in their showreel and does nothing for your listing
Option three

The marine media experts

  • We work in this industry and almost nowhere else. We know the vessels, the venues and the buyers
  • Photography, video and drone from one crew, in one visit
  • Back with you in days, while the listing is still fresh and the season is still live
  • Content that finally matches the calibre of what you're selling
What we do

Built for the people who run this industry

Brokers, charter operators, marinas, trades and owners. Different problems, one requirement. Content that makes someone pick up the phone.

Brokers & Builders

What we're known for

Your listing is sitting alongside fifty others on the same platform. We make the one buyers open first, and the one that still holds up when a serious buyer flies in to inspect.

  • Listing shoots for everything from trailer boats to 90ft and beyond
  • Stills, reels and a cinematic walkthrough from a single visit
  • Drone coverage as standard
  • Profile films that put a face and a story to your name

Charter & Tourism

Our biggest campaigns

Nobody books a charter off a spec sheet. They book because they can already picture themselves on deck. That's the whole job, and it's why charter work is the most involved thing we make.

  • Full campaigns with a hero film, a set of reels and a complete stills library
  • Guests, crew, food, and the light at the end of the day
  • Talent and styling arranged where the shoot calls for it
  • Season refreshes for operators whose media has aged out

Marinas, Trades & Refit

Best fit for monthly

Your work is genuinely good to watch, and most of your competitors never show it. Turning up consistently, month after month, is the cheapest advantage available in this industry, and the one almost nobody takes.

  • Monthly content shot on a schedule that fits around your jobs, not the other way round
  • Refits, haul outs, antifoul, electronics. The actual work
  • We can run and post the whole thing, or just hand the files over
  • One relationship instead of chasing a different freelancer every quarter

Owners, Agents & Crew

Where a lot of clients start

Smaller and faster than a full campaign. Often the first thing someone books with us, and often the reason they come back with something bigger.

  • Social shoots, a set of reels ready to post from one session
  • Profile films for brokers and agents building a name
  • Your own vessel, documented properly. Delivery day, refit or handover
  • Studio photography for brand, product and portraits

Our work

Every frame earns its place

There's a difference between a shot that looks good in a showreel and a shot that actually does something for you. We've shot enough boats to know which is which. Here's some of the recent work.

Why Frames

Why marine businesses stay with us

01

Back while it still matters

A listing goes cold quickly and a charter season doesn't wait for anyone. Most of our work is back with you in days. You'll spend a lot less time chasing us for files than you're probably used to spending chasing someone.

02

You won't have to explain your industry

No first meeting spent explaining what a flybridge is, why the boat can't leave the berth until Thursday, or why the light matters at 4pm. We shoot marine and almost nothing else, so we arrive already knowing.

03

The same two faces every time

You deal with James and Franky directly, from the first conversation to the final file. Most of our clients end up mates, and most of them stop looking anywhere else. We'd rather earn that than sell it.

“Fielding Marine has used Frames Media exclusively since the business was established, and they continue to be our go-to for all photography and videography.”

“Their consistency, attention to detail, and ability to capture each vessel in the best possible light is second to none. They understand exactly what is required in the marine industry and consistently deliver content that not only looks exceptional but also performs.”

“From quick turnarounds to full-scale shoots, the process is always seamless and professional!”

How we run

Simple, from the first call

01 Get in touch

Tell us the job

A short message or a phone call. If we haven't worked together, we'll have a proper conversation first. Often what you need is simpler than you'd assumed.

02 Proposal

You see it all upfront

Exactly what you're getting, when you're getting it, and what it costs. Nothing moves until you're happy with it.

03 Shoot day

We run the day

Access, timing, weather, drone, crew. All ours to worry about. Most listing shoots need a couple of hours of your vessel and almost none of you.

04 Delivery

Ready to use

Edited, graded and cut for wherever you're putting it: your website, the listing platforms, socials. Nothing reaches you until we're happy with it ourselves.

Our crew

We'd be down at the marina anyway

James and Franky met at film school in 2020 and started Frames Media out of a spare bedroom, taking on whatever came through the door. What kept us in marine was the industry itself. The boats, the people who build and run them, and the fact that no two days on the water look the same.

Three years on we work from a studio in Currumbin Waters and this is where we've made our name. We still get up early for a shoot because we want to, not because it's booked. That's probably the most useful thing we can tell you about how your project will be treated.

Questions

The things people ask us

What actually happens on a shoot day?

Less than you'd think, from your side. We plan the day around the light and the tide, arrive with everything we need, and work through the vessel systematically: exterior, interior, detail, then aerials. A typical listing shoot needs a couple of hours of the boat's time and almost none of yours.

If you want to be there, you're welcome. Most of our clients end up staying for the whole thing, which we take as a good sign.

How quickly do we get everything back?

Days, in most cases. A listing shoot comes back inside a week, often faster for smaller vessels. A full charter campaign takes longer, because there's simply more to shoot and grade.

Speed is the thing our clients mention most, and it's never an excuse for cutting corners. If you've got a hard deadline, whether that's a boat show, a launch or a listing that has to go live, tell us at the start and we'll build the schedule around it.

Can you shoot the boat underway, from the air, and under the water?

Yes to all three. Aerials are standard on almost everything we shoot, and we'll get the vessel underway wherever access and conditions allow. A boat sitting at the dock never looks like a boat that's doing what it was built for.

We'll tell you honestly at the planning stage what's achievable on the day. Weather and marina access decide a lot of it, and we'd rather set the expectation early than promise you a shot we can't get.

Do you travel outside the Gold Coast?

Constantly. We're based in Currumbin Waters and shoot across South East Queensland most weeks, but we work right across Australia: Sydney, the Whitsundays, wherever the vessel happens to be.

If you're outside our usual run, tell us where and we'll sort the logistics. It's rarely the obstacle people expect it to be.

We've already got someone shooting for us.

Then you might not need us. But it's worth asking two questions: how long are you waiting for files, and does the work look like anyone could have shot it?

If either answer bothers you, book us for one job and compare. That's how most of our longest standing clients started. A single shoot, then everything after it.
